Posh’s new 850 sq ft building is near her design studio and office HQ in Ransome’s Dock — the riverside development housing PR mogul Simon Fuller’s firm 19 Management, which represents her and husband David. Ramsay has announced that his latest food venture will be called London House and is to be located at the former Bennett Brasserie and Oyster Bar in Battersea Square. His wife Tana already has a beauty salon in Northcote Road and the couple live with their four children not far away in Wandsworth Common. The Beckhams were house-hunting in Battersea this year before deciding to rent a property a short drive across the Thames. Victoria recently bought a former Spar convenience store, which she intends to convert into extra space for her fashion label’s design HQ. Work on the much-hyped Battersea power station redevelopment finally began this month and the Northern line Tube extension is also expected to boost the area’s attractiveness to businesses and property buyers. Ramsay’s head chef at London House will be Anna Kelly, who has previously worked at leading restaurants in Paris. Her husband Colin runs the critically acclaimed Picture restaurant in central London. Details of the new restaurant’s theme are being kept secret but a spokeswoman for Ramsay confirmed that he had recently taken possession of the building and had chosen the name. Industry sources predict he will commission his favourite interior designer Russell Sage to redesign the former coal warehouse, which was once also a nightclub frequented by Princess Margaret and her lover Roddy Llewellyn. Sage has worked on the chef’s first restaurant collaboration with close friend Beckham, the Union Street Café in Borough Market — which is due to open in September, serving Mediterranean food. Ramsay said: “We’re really excited about the opening and it’s great that David wants to come on board.” London House will be more of a fine dining concept than the Union Street Café, according to industry sources. Ramsay is currently in Los Angeles filming his Kitchen Nightmares series and has also appeared in the American version of Masterchef but is due to return to London in time for his new restaurant openings.
